The Philippines has fast become the destination of
choice for companies looking for a quality offshore call
centre destination. International companies have
turned Manila into one of the largest call centre hubs
in the world. Whilst we maintain a call centre in
Manila, we have discovered that the best talent is often
outside of the capital. For example, the city of
Clark about 60 miles north of Manila has become our
major hub. Until recently, Clark was the home of
the largest US Air Force Base outside of The United
States. When the Americans pulled out, they left a
huge legacy of well-trained people in a city where
English had become the primary language. Davao in
The Southern Philippines is the country's second largest
city and many Manila based centres use the city as a
recruitment centre. However, we have discovered
that since we have set up in Davao, the quality of staff
we can find is very high and attrition rates is lower as
the city's inhabitants would rather live close to their
families than to move 100's of miles away to work in
Manila. |
